Welsh cobs Section D
Llanarth Briant was the first Welsh Cob stallion to make his mark at Llanarth, and in th 1970’s stallions such as Llanarth Flying Comet, Llanarth Meredith AP Briant and Llanarth Briton were hugely successful in the show ring. Llanarth Lord Nelson (Llanarth True Briton’s 3/4 brother), the next senior sire, proved to be a very good stock-getter for looks and temperament.
We were fortunate to have Crugybar Mabon Mai here as a young stallion for four years and he left us a generation of lovely mares - as well as our present stallion, Llanarth Prince Of Wales who, like his sire, is proving to be a great stock-getter.
We then borrowed Menai Sparkling Magic for a few seasons from the Spiekerman Family. He sired young mares like Llanarth Laura and stallions like Llanarth Seldom Seen and Llanarth Fiery Jack.
More recently Nelson Smith very kindly let us use Trevallion Hooch and he sired Llanarth Gwyneira, Llanarth Elin and Llanarth Garibaldi.
In 2018 and 2019, we were lucky to lease Abercippyn Victor’s Last (Ebbw Victor X Abercippyn Rose Cariad) with thanks to all at Abercippyn Stud.
All the mares go back to the famous dams Llanarth Flying Saucer and Rhosfarch Morwenna.
